Membership Season

Basketball BC’s membership season is September 1 to August 31.

Member Club Registrations are accepted on an annual basis, September 1 to August 31 with one registration per membership season
Clubs can apply at any time during the registration period, but Member Club dues will not be adjusted for a partial membership season

Safe Sport Requirements

Basketball BC is committed to creating a sport environment that is free from all forms of maltreatment. The same level of commitment is expected from its Member Clubs.

Before registering to become a Basketball BC Member Club, please read the Member Club Safe Sport Requirements.

Safe Sport policies are required for insurance coverage of the Member Club and its participants. The Member Club may be required to provide its Safe Sport policies to Basketball BC upon request.

Participants

Member Club participants and their dues are determined by the Club’s basketball activities:

COMPETITIVE ATHLETE - $25/athlete less $5/athlete waiver

Rep/Tournament Teams and/or High School Team Out of Season (OS)

INSURANCE SUBSCRIBER (athletes, coaches, and volunteers) - $8/subscriber less $8/coach or volunteer waiver

House League, Youth Training and Development Programs/Camps

JR NBA PROGRAM - no additional fees as the program is administered and fees assessed by Canada Basketball

All participant dues are subject to GST

Online Registration

Information on how to register your club to be a Basketball BC Member Club is noted below.
PLEASE READ CAREFULY AND FOLLOW EACH STEP.

The registration of Club participants (athlete, coaches, and volunteers) is done by submission of a PARTICIPANT DATA FILE.
All Club participants are required to be registered through this process. This ensures that Basketball BC has proper data and information related to our participants.

STEP 1	PARTICIPATION INFORMATION - PARTICIPANT DATA FILE Download the PARTICIPANT DATA FILE. Enter the participant information for ALL Club athletes, coaches, and volunteers per the club's basketball activities. (See Member Club Participants section above for athlete program descriptions) Email the PARTICIPANT DATA FILE (in Excel format) to Basketball BC Clubs. (Please include the Club Name in the subject line) If the participant data is not available at the time of the Member Club Registration: provide an ESTIMATE of the NUMBER of Competitive Athlete and/or Insurance Subscribers when requested in the online Registration. The Club has 30 days from the date of registration to submit the participant data. Allowances will be made if approved by Basketball BC. Subsequent PARTICIPANT DATA FILES or ATHLETE ESTIMATES may be required if additional participants are added during the membership season. *Failure to submit a complete PARTICIPANT DATA FILE may affect the Member Club's status and/or insurance coverage.* *Only participants listed on the data file will be eligible for insurance coverage.*
STEP 2	ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLINE REGISTRATION LINK
STEP 3	PARTICIPANT DUES Once the Club has completed the Online Registration process, the Club will be invoiced for the total number of athletes, coaches, and volunteers from the PARTICIPANT DATA FILE or based on the ESTIMATE provided in the Online Registration. Additional participant dues will be invoiced for additional participants during the membership season..
STEP 4	PAYMENT Payment method for participant dues is credit card or direct payment Interac e-Transfer. Cheques may be accepted if approved by Basketball BC For credit card payment, a payment link will be emailed to the Club contact For Interact e-Transfer, email payment to sdheensaw@basketball.bc.ca. Please use auto-deposit for the e-Transfer if available by your financial institution. A Certificate of Insurance (COI) will not be issued until the participant dues are paid in full. Failure to pay participant dues will affect the Members Club's status as a member in good standing and therefore affect the sanctioning of the Club's basketball activities for insurance purposes.
STEP 5	CONFIRMATION Upon submission of the registration, Basketball BC will email a copy of the registration so the Club can review and confirm. When confirmed by the Club, Basketball BC will process the registration. Once the registration process is completed, Basketball BC will email the Club to confirm its status - CONFIRMED or CONDITIONAL. The Member Club's status will be deemed Conditional if the Club has not submitted the PARTICIPANT DATA FILE (or updated data file). *Conditional status may affect the Member Club's insurance coverage as only participants listed on the data file will be eligible for insurance coverage.*
