Learn to Train (L2T) Program – “TRAINED”

This program is:

for the coach who works with athletes aged 9-12 years of age
2 – 8 hours sessions which include ethical decision making, modified games approach, LTAD, safety, age appropriate practice planning and skill development

After completing this program, the coach will have NCCP Basketball Learn to Train - “Trained” status.

Clinic Fee: $200+ GST (includes program material)

Learn to Train (L2T) Program – “CERTIFIED”

To become “Certified” for this program, the coach will:

have NCCP Basketball Learn to Train – “Trained” status
request the Coach Portfolio and NCCP Evaluation registration link from the Manager, Coach Education
register for the NCCP Evaluation (at the link provided)
complete the Coach Portfolio and submit it to the Manager, Coach Education for evaluation
receive acceptance of the Coach Portfolio from the Manager, Coach Education
pass an evaluation of the coach’s practice (evaluated by a provincial evaluator)
pass the NCCP on-line Making Ethical Decisions exam

Evaluation Fee: $150 + GST (includes Coach Portfolio and Practice evaluations)

MAINTENANCE OF CERTIFICATION

Learn to Train (L2T) Competency Challenge Program – “CERTIFIED”

This program is:

for the coach who has previously taken the old NCCP program (Level I, II, III) and does not wish to take the NCCP Basketball Learn to Train program clinic; or
for the coach who has sufficient knowledge and experience to challenge the NCCP Basketball Learn to Train program

NCCP COURSE CHALLENGE MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the NCCP Basketball Learn to Train Competency Challenge program, please provide the following information to the Manager, Coach Education

old NCCP program status; and
coaching experience/history – the coach will need a minimum of 3 to 5 years coaching experience and to have demonstrated additional training i.e. attendance and participation at coaching clinics and/or seminars

If the coach receives approval to proceed with the Learn to Train Competency Challenge program, the Coach Portfolio and NCCP Competency Challenge registration link will be emailed to the coach.

To complete the “Certified” status for this program, the coach will:

receive approval from the Manager, Coach Education to proceed with the program
register for the NCCP Learn to Train Competency Challenge Program
complete the Coach Portfolio and submit it to the Manager, Coach Education for evaluation
receive acceptance of the Coach Portfolio from the Manager, Coach Education
pass an evaluation of the coach’s practice (evaluated by a provincial evaluator)
pass the NCCP on-line Making Ethical Decisions exam

Competency Challenge Fee: $325 + GST (includes program material and Coach Portfolio and Practice evaluations)
