Basketball BC is thrilled and proud to announce the INITIAL recipient of the Basketball BC Baden Big Kahuna CoachingAward!

She is Debra Montgomery – Vanderhoof

BBC Executive Director said “Debra epitomizes what BBC, Baden and Big Kahuna want to celebrate – a volunteer coach who works tirelessly with a team in assisting them to be better players, better students and good people in the community.” As Debra herself noted there are many hundreds of volunteer coaches and her award is representative of all those coaches who are supporting our youth. The award is a new one created by Basketball BC and supported by Baden and Big Kahuna who continue to support basketball in a big way throughout our province. BBC will be presenting an award monthly and looks forward to receiving more nominees. Our next award will be announced at the end of February.

BBC thaks the selection committee for its' past and future work; namely Patti Buna (Kelowna), Neil Brown (Langley), Brian Lee (Vancouver), Ken Olynyk (Kamloops).
