The Girls Futures Camp is the first level of the Basketball BC High Performance Program and is aligned with Canada Basketball's overall Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS).

The Girls Futures Camp:

  • is an introduction into High Performance training for girls currently in grade 6, 7, and 8 in fall 2024 (born in 2011, 2012 or 2013)
  • is a 2 day camp, consisting of instruction and competition and an introduction to High Performance training
  • promotes the development of basketball skills by introducing athletes to Canada Basketball's terms of reference, drills, and systems to assist them in becoming familiar with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) style of play
  • provides identification for future participation in the Basketball BC 2024 Fall Junior Academy Program, Team BC, and BC Summer Games program
  • provides early identification of future Canada Basketball Cadet National age players

Futures Camp Specifics and Requirements:

  • is for athletes who are currently training and participating in basketball and have acquired some skills and are looking for further development - it is not an introduction camp to basketball training
  • is based on FIBA points of emphasis and concepts of play with a designed structure and format in developing a multi-skilled player

This camp often fills up - so if interested, don't delay in registering.
