BC Summer Games Program

The BC Summer Games are an amateur sporting event held on every even-numbered year.
For basketball, the age group is U14.
For 2026:
U14 - athletes must be born in 2012 or later
Athletes interested in playing on a BC Summer Games (BCSG) team MUST attend a selection camp in the zone where they make their permanent residence.
Now recruiting: Coaches for the 2026 BC Summer Games
Basketball BC is excited to announce that applications are now open for Zone Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for the 2026 BC Summer Games, taking place July 22–26, 2026 in Kelowna. This is an incredible leadership opportunity for coaches looking to support young athletes at a premier provincial event and advance their own coaching pathways.
About the Opportunity
Coaches play a vital role in shaping both the athletic performance and personal growth of the athletes they lead. As part of the BC Summer Games program, Zone Coaches work together to prepare a team of U14 athletes (born 2012 or earlier) for 5-on-5 competition, with each zone fielding a roster of 10 players.
This is not only a meaningful development opportunity for athletes. It is also a key stepping‑stone for coaches interested in pursuing advanced levels of NCCP training and competitive coaching experience.

Team Program
BC Summer Games are headed to Kelowna from July 22-26, 2026.
NOTE: representation of all 8 geographical BC zones will be dependent on coach availability.
Additional competition opportunities for teams are an elective part of this program and participation is determined via input from team participants, parents and coaches. Additional fees will be required for any additional competition opportunities.
If gym space must be rented for the program, additional costs will be incurred by team members
BC Summer Games Team Program participants receive:
- Opportunity to represent their zone in the BC Summer Games with the possibility of participation in additional elective tournaments
- Travel, food, and accommodation while participating in the BC Games
- Player apparel package and team uniforms
- Ministry of Education Athlete 10 External Sport Credits Program Certification (upon request)
Selection Camps
The BC Summer Games selection camps will take place in April/May, 2026.
U14 SELECTION CAMPS - TBA
Selection Camp participants receive:
- Individual skill development
- Basketball BC T-shirt
- Opportunity to be selected to participate on a BC Summer Games Team

2026 BC SUmmer Games
Program Fees
BCSG Selection Camp: $75 (GST Exempt)
BCSG Team: $600 (GST Exempt)
Fee will not be adjusted for partial participation
BASKETBALL BC ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP (September 1 to August 31)
Basketball BC programs require a Basketball BC Athlete membership. The registration system will add the membership fee to the program registration if the athlete does not have the required membership. The membership is non refundable.
2025-26 Basketball BC Athlete Membership: $25 + GST (if required)
Registration Information
SELECTION CAMP REGISTRATION: ONLINE ONLY (WILL OPEN AS CAMPS ARE CONFIRMED)

If the registration for your camp zone is not open - DO NOT REGISTER FOR ANOTHER CAMP.
Please wait until the correct camp is available as registrations are not transferable.
TEAM REGISTRATION: ONLINE ONLY BY INVITATION (registration/payment information will be emailed to the selected athletes and their parents after the selection camp is completed)
DEADLINE: Fee is due upon selection to the team
PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE AS REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR
In accordance with Basketball BC policy, all participants must be preregistered (for the correct tryout/clinic/program) to attend each specific Basketball BC tryout/clinic/program.
PLEASE SELECT THE CORRECT REGISTRATION
A registration list for each specific tryout/clinic/program will be used to confirm the participants. Only those individuals on each specific registration list will be allowed to participate. Basketball BC is not responsible for any user errors which may result in an individual being excluded from participating in the tryout/clinic/program if the individual is not on the registration list.
REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE
If the individual is registered for the wrong tryout/clinic/program, the individual will need to be registered for the correct tryout/clinic/program before the stated registration deadline. Please send a refund request for the original registration to Basketball BC. An administration fee will be charged in accordance with our Refund Policy.
REGISTRATION COMPLETION/EMAIL CONFIRMATION
If the registration (and payment) is completed successfully, there will be a REGISTRATION COMPLETE! MESSAGE after submitting the credit card information AND an EMAIL CONFIRMATION WILL BE SENT to the account holder (Parent if account is for a child). The email may be sent to a "junk" folder depending on the email filter - please check that the junk folder is not set to "auto delete".
IF THERE IS A BLANK SCREEN after submitting the credit card information AND THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION IS NOT RECEIVED, the REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT MAY NOT HAVE COMPLETED. Do not try to register again. Wait a day and try again.
