BC Summer Games Program

The BC Summer Games are an amateur sporting event held on every even-numbered year.
For basketball, the age group is U14.  

 

For 2026:

U14 - athletes must be born in 2012 or later  
 

Athletes interested in playing on a BC Summer Games (BCSG) team MUST attend a selection camp in the zone where they make their permanent residence.
Please check the BC Summer Games Zones and Zone Details for the correct zone.

Coaches

BC Summer Games (BCSG) coaches are selected by Basketball BC through an application process.

Coaches in each zone will evaluate players at the selection camps and select 10 players of each gender to participate on their BCSG teams.  Selected participants take part in additional training and skill development.  The practice schedule will be communicated by each coach.  Alternates do not participate in the BCSG and will pay a reduced fee.

Team Program

BC Summer Games are headed to Kelowna from July 26-29, 2026.

NOTE: representation of all 8 geographical BC zones will be dependent on coach availability.

Additional competition opportunities for teams are an elective part of this program and participation is determined via input from team participants, parents and coaches. Additional fees will be required for any additional competition opportunities.

If gym space must be rented for the program, additional costs will be incurred by team members

 

BC Summer Games Team Program participants receive:
  • Opportunity to represent their zone in the BC Summer Games with the possibility of participation in additional elective tournaments
  • Travel, food, and accommodation while participating in the BC Games
  • Player apparel package and team uniforms
  • Ministry of Education Athlete 10 External Sport Credits Program Certification (upon request)

  • Basketball BC T-shirt
  • Opportunity to be selected to participate on a BC Summer Games Team

Fees will not be adjusted for partial participation
BASKETBALL BC ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP
Basketball BC programs require a Basketball BC Athlete Membership.  The membership provides liability and participant accident insurance coverage for the athlete when participating in a Basketball BC program.  The membership fee will be added to the program registration if required.

If the registration for your camp zone is not open - DO NOT REGISTER FOR ANOTHER CAMP. 
Please wait until the correct camp is available as registrations are not transferable.

TEAM REGISTRATION: ONLINE ONLY BY INVITATION (registration/payment information will be emailed to the selected athletes and their parents after the selection camp is completed)
DEADLINE: Fee is due upon selection to the team

 

PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE AS REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR
In accordance with Basketball BC policy, all participants must be preregistered (for the correct tryout/clinic/program) to attend each specific Basketball BC tryout/clinic/program.  

PLEASE SELECT THE CORRECT REGISTRATION
A registration list for each specific tryout/clinic/program will be used to confirm the participants.  Only those individuals on each specific registration list will be allowed to participate.  Basketball BC is not responsible for any user errors which may result in an individual being excluded from participating in the tryout/clinic/program if the individual is not on the registration list.  

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE
If the individual is registered for the wrong tryout/clinic/program, the individual will need to be registered for the correct tryout/clinic/program before the stated registration deadline.  Please send a refund request for the original registration to Basketball BC.  An administration fee will be charged in accordance with our Refund Policy.

 

REGISTRATION COMPLETION/EMAIL CONFIRMATION

If the registration (and payment) is completed successfully, there will be a REGISTRATION COMPLETE! MESSAGE after submitting the credit card information AND an EMAIL CONFIRMATION WILL BE SENT to the account holder (Parent if account is for a child).  The email may be sent to a "junk" folder depending on the email filter - please check that the junk folder is not set to "auto delete".

IF THERE IS A BLANK SCREEN after submitting the credit card information AND THE EMAIL CONFIRMATION IS NOT RECEIVED, the REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT MAY NOT HAVE COMPLETED.  Do not try to register again.  Wait a day and try again.
