Executive Director Lawrie Johns today announced that long time employee, Ross Tomlinson, will be leaving Basketball BC effective April 15, 2016.
"I'd like to thank all the players, coaches, my coworkers and the Basketball BC board for the privilege of working with them for the past 17 years and I look forward to continuing my relationship with Basketball BC in my new role as Executive Director of the Tri-City Youth Basketball Association," Tomlinson said.
“Ross has devoted over 17 years to Basketball BC in a number of roles, most recently directing the Performance program. As well Ross has been integrally involved with our coaching clinics through the NCCP, BC and Canada Games and many other initiatives supporting athletes and coaches in our Province” Johns said
He continued “Our association is indebted to Ross for his many, many hours of work and his dedication to our sport in this province.”
“As Ross transitions to a new position with the Tri City Youth Basketball Association (TCYBA), which is among other things the largest Steve Nash Youth Basketball group in the country, we will continue to work closely with him and we know we can call on him during our transition phase.”
Johns concluded, “I have worked with Ross for 16 of those years and know firsthand the dedication he brings to the sport – a characteristic that the TCYBA will see on a first hand basis. I know I speak for a large number of people in our sport and in sport in general in wishing him all the best.
